Registration Method

A. In Person

Please bring with you the following documents:

1.   Completed registration form (can be obtained in our office/downloaded from our website http://www.ieltsHongKong.hk/)

2.              2 passport-sized photos (taken within 6 months)

3.              Original HKID card or Passport

4.              Copy of your HKID card or Passport

5.              Copy of your previous IELTS result (if applicable)

6.              Self-addressed envelope (can be obtained in our office)

7.              Test Fee HK$1500 (Cash or EPS)

·   If you cannot register in person, you may authorize somebody to register for you. The authorized person must bring with an original authorization letter with candidate’s signature and the above documents, except in number 3 for the authorized person’s original HKID card or Passport.

Test Fee: Please note that the IDP IELTS Test Fee will be adjusted to HK$1,600with effect from 1 June 2012. The fee for tests taking place until 31 May 2012 (see below table 1) remains at HK$1,500.

*IELTS is suitable for candidates aged 16 or above.

B. Online Registration

Candidates can visit www.ieltsbooking.idp.com/hongkong to check the available test sessions and register anytime.

For continuous improvement on our service, the IELTS Online Application and Payment System will be upgraded.  It will be out of service temporarily on 5 January 2011 from 9am to 2pm.  Sorry for any inconvenience caused.   

You can still apply for IELTS by handing all necessary items to IDP Education in person.  If you have any queries, please feel free to contact Examination Service Unit at 2827 6362.

Documents Required

Please have the following items available:

1.    A valid ID document (HKID Card/Passport)

2.    Soft copy (JPG file) of your recent photo (taken within 3 months)

3.    A soft copy of your previous IELTS test report if you have taken IELTS before.

4.    Payment Method: PPS - Please prepare your PPS login and password.

Photographs must meet requirements below:

1.    Identical colour photographs that are not more than six months old

2.    No headwear and nothing covering the face, the outlines of the eyes, nose or mouth

3.    A plain, light coloured background

4.    Looking straight towards the camera and neutral expression with mouth closed

5.    Eyes open and clearly visible without glasses

6.    Print quality of professional standard

Changing the Test Date or Test Module

Candidates are not allowed to make any changes for the Date or Module of the registered test within 5 weeks before the registered Test Date.

Any request for changes is subject to the availability of seats for the Test.  An administration charge of HK$375 (25% of the test fee) will be applied. Each candidate shall only be allowed to reschedule ONCE.  Deferments cannot be made for more than 1 month after the date of the original registered test.

Confirmation of Registration

Please keep your CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION in a safe place, because this is NEEDED for an IDENTITY CHECK on the test day.

Refund Policy

No refund will be granted within 5 weeks before the registered Test Date.

Any request for refund is subject to approval by IELTS Administrator. A maximum of 75% of the test fee is refundable as an administration charge of 25% will be deducted from the test fee.

Request for refund with detailed explanation must be made in writing to the IELTS Administrator.
